Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge #1 and a Quick Christmas Card tutorial

Friday, November 06, 2009

This is the 2nd card from me today, so make sure you scroll down on the blog to see the procject I made for Sukkersött this week.

It's time to start the challenges(every Friday)over at the Wags 'n Whiskers blog. You need to use a W'nW stamp to join and this week you have to make your card sparkle.
I have made a quick christmas card for this challenge. December is coming soon and if you're in a hurry it's nice to make some of those quick cards. Scroll down on this post to see my tutorial.
For this card I used the Sweet Danni and Bella stamp. The sentiments on this card are from Inkido. Papers are from Melissa Frances and the ribbons I bought at Walmart at our honeymoon to Miami and New Orleans;)

Here is the tutorial on how to make a quick christmas card:

Cut some cardstock in 6x12" and fold it in half.

The image is Sweet Danni and Bella from Wags 'n Whiskers. To save time I only coloured some elements of the image. I used Touch Marker Wine Red. The patterned papers I used are from Melissa Frances.
Cut cardstock and patterned papers. The measurements I used are:
White Cardstock: 1 piece 14,8x14,8 cm and 1 piece 13,5x11,5 cm
Striped paper: 14,3x14,3 cm
Music note paper: 13x11 cm

Red Cardstock: 7x10 cm

Image: 6,5x9,5 cm

Then ink the edges of the image and the patterned papers with some brown ink. I used Distress Ink Vintage Photo. Use adhesive tape to glue the image and the patterned papers to the cardstock panels.

This is how the panels look before you assemble the card.

Assemble the two patterned papers panels to each other. Then you tie some ribbons to your card.

And then you put the image over the ribbons.

Add some embellies to the card. I used some bling swirls from Prima, felt snowflake from SU and glitter snowflake from MM.

Make a white panel to use inside the card. The measurements of mine is 14,8x14,8 cm.
Stamp some snowflake stamps and sentiments on it before you glue it on the cardstock. I also onked the edges of this white panel with the brown ink.

Assemble the panels to the red card. At the end you use some Stickles(I used Frosted Lace) on some parts of your image. I used it on the sock and cat's hat. And also on the ribbon on Danni's dress.

When the Stickles was dry I spraye dthe whole card with some Shimmerz Spritz to make it sparkle even more.

This is how the card looked when it was finished! Good luck making your Christmas cards.
Hugs from Kristine:)

Sukkersøtt 60 - Altered item

Happy Friday everyone!
It's Friday again and it's time for another challenge at the Sukkersött blog. This week you have to alter an item(but not a square/rectangular box) and make a matching card as well! This week the price is from Patternscape, a Norwegian paper producer. They also sponsored the DT with some fabulous papers. Visit the Sukkersött blog to join!
I made a baby gift and a baby card with the papers from Patternscape. On the round box I used some rub ons from Kaiser and some white glitter alpha stickers from Walmart.

The box I altered was a flower box from Prima Marketing. On the lid of the box I cut some Spellbinder circles and decorated them with flowers, rub ons from Kaiser, a butterfly and ribbons. This is the card I made. It is also an altered item. The papers from Patternscape is distressed on the edges, inked with brown ink and then sewed on my sewing machine.

Here you see the box I altered for the card. It is a chipboard box from K&Company.

And here you see the card inside the box. All sentiments used on the card and the box are from Stampin Up. I sprayed the card and the box woth Shimmerz Baby's Breath to give it all a nice shimer. But it's hard to see on the photos :(
And some more photos of the details of the card.

Thank you for visiting and have a nice weekend;)

Christmas Card with Envelope

Tuesday, November 03, 2009

This is a christmas card I've made as a guest DT member at Inkido. I also made a matching envelope. The card qualifies for this month's challenge at the Ett Trykk Blog. You have to make a christmas card in red and white, and the focal point should be a sentiment/text. All supplies used on the card and envelope are from Inkido. The only extra things I used was a Martha Stewart punch(leaves) and 2 SU punches(oval).
On the envelope I stamped some big snowflakes and embossed them with some white embossing powder with glitter. I really love the texture it gavethe envelope.

Thanks for visiting;)

Friday, October 23, 2009

This week at Sukkersött, challenge #58 is to make a card with elements of nature. You can use flowers, leaves, sand, shells etc.

I managed to make an autumn card in between all the Christmas cards ;) I got some beautiful Stampin Up papers a while ago, and now I found the perfect occation to use them. The papers are called Autumn Meadows and the matching cardstocks are also from SU.
The border on the left is made with a Martha Stewart border punch.
The sentiment is from Inkadinkado and the bird and the script stamps are Tim Holtz.
The elements of nature I used on this card was a piece of bark, cinnamon sticks and some bayleaves. The bark and cinnamon sticks are sprayed with Glimmer Mist Cinnamon, the bayleaves with some Shimmerz Bamboo Leaf. On the Hydrangea Flowers from Prima I used Shimmerz Eucalyptus.Inside the card I used more of the papers and cardstock from the front of the card. And I used a fabulous background stamp from SU on the Vanilla cardstock. The stamp is called Sanded.
The cute bird is a Tim Holtz Clear Stamp(another one of my favourite stamps)!

DT Inkido - God Jul

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Her kommer et brunt julekort fra meg. Det er laget med noen av de nye julepapirene fra Inkido. Alle kanter på papirene er distresset og svertet med brunt blekk. Jeg har så brukt symaskin for å sy papirene sammen.
Here is a DT card I made for Inkido. All supplies for this card is from Inkido, except for the glitter glue and the Glimmer Mist spray.

Blomstene er pyntet med litt glitterlim og shimmerspray.

Jeg sprayet hele kortet med shimmerspray for å få det til å skinne slike flott som metallic kartongen til Inkdio!
Here you see how the card sparkles when I have sprayed it with Glimmer Mist spray. It matches the shimmery cardstock from Inkido!
